Project Connect
Five Lambeth secondary schools have worked with the Foundation to extend access to school students in the three years leading up to their GCSE exams; years 9, 10 and 11.
Each participating family benefits from the use of a laptop computer to use at home or at school and, in some cases, internet access is provided through the 3G mobile telphone network.
The project is funded by a mix of contributions from families and grants. The students are asked to sign pledges promising to use the computers to help them achieve a better grades in GCSE English. They are also asked to join a club, society or volunteer programme to promote the concept of "connecting" directly with others not just online.
An individual school page is being completed for each school where information on progress can be posted.
